My tone poem An Invocation will be performed by the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle on their concert An Homage to Handel. This context for An Invocation excites me because: 1. The first aria I ever sang as an aspiring countertenor was Handel's "Ombra mai fù." 2. The talented Cathryn Cummings will be featured soloist when my new Urlicht Fantasy for horn and chamber orchestra will be premiered by the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Dan D'Addio. The music is based on fragments from Gustav Mahler's moving Lied "Urlicht," and I'm excited to hear this band of musicians who are so dedicated to new music. Also on the program will be music by other Hartt School mentors and alums: Stephen Gryc, David Macbride, and Erberk Eryılmaz.

Kelley and Julia have added Canciónes de desamor to their recital of works by this countries greatest art song composers including Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, and Lee Hoiby.
