Setnor Opera Theater of Syracuse University (Eric Johnson, artistic director) will perform my one-act opera Thyrsis & Amaranth at the end of January along with two other one-acts by American composers to create "An An American Triptych: Three Contemporary One-Act Operas."Also featured will be Michael Ching's Speed Dating Tonight! and Tom Cipullo's Lucy. Pale Blue., a new music organization in Austin, TX, is focusing their upcoming concert on marginalized communities, and they will be producing the premiere my new monologue for mezzo-soprano and ensemble titled And Loving for All. The soloist is the voice of Mildred Loving, and I've written the libretto based on her 2007 press release commemorating the 40th anniversary of the landmark 1967 Supreme Court decision in Loving v.
